Stacy Silverman

Stacy Silverman's career includes over 16 years of experience in social work, alternative education, adult training, and management support for high quality out-of-school time opportunities. Silverman was introduced to Continuous Quality Improvement training and processes in 2003 and has remained involved over the years because of a deep desire to increase nationally the number of positive youth development opportunities. He has worked in a variety of roles serving youth throughout the country including as a mental health case worker, a juvenile justice afterschool program supervisor, a therapeutic wilderness instructor and course director for Outward Bound and Eckerd Youth Alternatives, and a trainer and quality advisor for out-of-school time systems.  Silverman consulted for and then worked for Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc., an intermediary for afterschool programs implementing quality initiatives in Florida. Outside of coaching programs to increase quality using a continuous quality improvement approach, Stacy was responsible for updating the Palm Beach County Quality Standards for Afterschool, creating online trainings to enhance their understanding, and redesigning all of Prime Time's Quality Improvement System trainings and technical supports to broaden system capacity and increase organizational efficiency. He also worked as a consultant trainer and afterschool program assessor completing hundreds of assessments during the YPQA reliability, validity and various other studies.

Silverman works for Knowledge Universe as Senior Quality and Accreditation Advisor for Champions afterschool programs. Knowledge Universe is the leading private provider of early childhood and school-age education, serving 200,000 children in 39 states. In addition to freelancing as a Youth Development Training Consultant, Stacy works with Positive Legacy, an international organization whose mission is to integrate music and service to benefit people and the environment. Stacy obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and is a certified social worker.
