More Tips from HOST Members During the COVID-19 Pandemic
HOST members are continuing to offer insights and ideas for healthy eating and physical activity while COVID-19 impacts our daily lives. (See also these resources previously posted.)
- The National League of Cities notes that disruptions in community and regional services, as well as school closures from COVID-19, can make access to food much harder for children, low-income vulnerable adults, and the elderly. They suggest ways that municipal leaders can support access to food and nutrition during this time.
- "Coronavirus Is Worsening Food Insecurity for Latino, Other Families," notes Salud America. They explain the many ways this is happening, and also offer some suggestions for what we can do to promote healthy food environments where we live.
- The National Afterschool Association suggests ways of "Managing Stress During Coronovirus," including exercise.
- Action for Healthy Kids shares "Healthy Activities to Do at Home."
- The National Recreation and Park Association discusses "What Does #PhysicalDistancingInParks Look Like?" and shares ideas for "Protecting Child Health and Wellbeing During COVID-19."
